It was not easy task to add support for additional browsers. It’ s just very wild browser world out there, especially for advanced DOM manipulation and HTML5 tricks we need in order to maintain consistent SiteCake user experience.

So we had to rewrite SiteCake completely, make it more robust and scalable. It took us two months. Now we have FireFox, Safari and Chrome support.

Internet Explorer, of course, is beast of it’s own. Even forthcoming IE9 lacks support for many HTML5 features we need. So we took a shortcut. We use Google Chrome Frame to render site while  you are logged in SiteCake. All other times, whether you are browsing your site or any other site,  native IE  rendering engine is on . First time you start using SiteCake in IE you will be prompted to download plugin, after that you will never even notice the difference.

This updade will be available when we release premium version, after vacation season.

SiteCake is designed to make life easier for ordinary people wanting to give new life to their brochureware websites. It is meant to be as simple as using any desktop text editor. Idea behind the SiteCake: Output is input. Write where you read. Just like on paper.
